I’m not an expert but here are five stocks that I think will perform well in the rest of 2008. I do own all of these myself. If you buy any of these stocks you do so at your own risk.
- WYNN - $103.02 - This stock has done very well for me ever since I got the IPO at $18. This stock was up to 176.14 about 6 months ago. It took a dump along with the whole market but I think it has gone lower than it actually should. Currently at $103.02 I think this stock will increase before the end of the year. The only negative factor is that the estimated quarterly EPS aren’t that high.
- AAPL - $183.45 - 99% of the reason I bought this stock at $128.24 is due to the fact that I personally have own 3 ipods, and iPhone and a MacBook Pro. Even I switched to the Mac after about 22 years of using a Windows based PC. I figure if I made the switch many others will too. As Apple gains its market share its stock price should increase. Estimated earnings are decent and the stock price really bounced back from the market dump.
- POT - $197.86 - Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. is an integrated fertilizer and related industrial and feed products company. The Company’s potash is produced from six mines in Saskatchewan and one mine in New Brunswick. Of these mines, it owns and operates five in Saskatchewan and the one in New Brunswick. Its nitrogen operations involve the production of nitrogen fertilizers and nitrogen feed and industrial products, including ammonia, urea, nitrogen solutions, ammonium nitrate and nitric acid. This stock has performed very well over the last 2 years and is anticipated to continue performing. Credit Suisse sets its price potential at $210.
- PM - $51.83 - Recently spinned off from Altria (MO) Phillip Morris should perform well. Earning estimates are very strong and the recent international move should protect them from a flood of lawsuits and US regulations. Marlboro gained market share and I think it will continue to do so.
- HPQ - $49.13 - This stock has performed well for me and been very stable. This fits in as one of my solid stocks in my portfolio. I don’t expect it to increase greatly but i also don’t expect it to decline. Plus who doesn’t have a HP printer?
Anyways those are some of my picks. I own alot of stocks but I think those are all decent ones. Good Luck!

Man i got creamed in the market today i wish i had some POTASH.. it has fallen back quite a bit…
I think i might get emotional and buy gold!
