I am here in London for the Idate conference, it’s going on September 22nd and 23rd. It’s being held at the Millenium Gloucester Hotel Kensington and Conference Centre in London. The conference basically focuses on online and offline dating sector, with speakers from both fields.
I must say the conference is much smaller than I expected. I would estimate that there were approximately 80 attendees. As expected most were from the UK or Europe. I think I was one of a few Americans, however I expected this and was one of the reasons I chose to attend. The trade floor was very small with only around 6 exhibitors.
I attended some of the speaker presentations and I was impressed by all of them. They are all very knowledgeable and I enjoyed most of what they had to say.
I have been to Idate Miami several times, I would estimate that conference to be about 2-3 as large. The next Idate event is January 22-23, 2009, I plan to attend that one for sure!
